Frayer Model
The Frayer Model is a method of teaching direct vocabulary instruction, and involves the following steps (Rekrut, 1996):
- Give the word and name its relevant attributes.
- Eliminate irrelevant attributes.
- Give examples.
- Give examples of what the word is not (nonexamples).
- List subordinate terms.
- List superordinate terms.
- List coordinate terms.
